What To Expect

How long is the worship service?

Each service lasts approximately one hour and generally includes communion and a children’s message.

What do I wear?

Dress is casual but respectful.

Can I take communion?

We welcome all who trust in the Lord Jesus Christ and rejoice in the opportunity to partake of His body and blood, in and with the bread and the wine.  Both common cup and individual glasses are offered.  Individual glasses of white grape juice are included in the tray if that is your preference.  Children who have not been instructed are also welcome to come up with their parents for a blessing by the pastor.

Will I be required to make an offering?

If you are our guest, we do not expect you to give an offering.  For members and friends, the ministry of this congregation is dependent upon our generous giving.  Our offering is a significant act of worship.

What is the difference between the two services?

Both services are based in the Gospel and include reading from the Old and New Testament.  The early service is generally more traditional in nature with piano and/or organ music.  The second service often uses more contemporary music led by a worship band.

Is there childcare during worship service?

There is a nursery available for your use, as needed, and the service can be listened to over speakers within the room.  However, Living Savior Lutheran Church encourages you to bring your children to the services so they to may hear the word of God.

Is the facility handicap accessible?

Yes, the entire facility is handicap accessible.

What if I have trouble hearing the service?

Assisted listening devices are available for those who may have difficulty hearing.

What does “Christian Education” include?

There is truly something for everyone throughout the year.  The Sunday morning education hour includes classes for all ages including adults.  A communion class is given for 5th grade youth with the three year Confirmation program beginning in 6th grade.  Adults are offered varied opportunities to participate in Bible study and/or spiritual growth activities in conjunction with Adult Instruction class, Amazing Grays (senior’s group), Men’s Group, Women’s Group and more.  A weekday preschool program is available during the school year.

Do I need to be a member to participate in church activities?

No.  We welcome all that wish to participate in any activities we offer.  It is however the membership that votes at our congregational meetings, generally held twice a year, and who hold the board positions according to our bylaws.

What resources are available if I am in crisis and in need of help?

We are a Stephen Ministry congregation.  Our trained Stephen Ministers are here to confidentially help others through the difficult times that each of us have or will experience during our lives.  The women of St. Luke’s Circle also lend a hand by providing meals, transportation, etc. as the need arises.  These caring individuals augment the considerable resources of our Pastor to council as well provide referrals to other assistance.
